I have spent the past 12 years as a teacher in the Philadelphia school district. I chose to work in education because helping students become successful is rewarding for me. If I work hard to teach them, and they work hard to study, then all that work pays off in the difference it makes in each student's life. I use my strong communication and organizational skills when I tutor, and enjoy using hands-on teaching techniques to help students understand the concepts we're working on. I believe one-on-one lessons are beneficial because it allows me to focus my time and energy on each student's needs and goals. When my students' faces light up as the material clicks in their heads, it is a joyful moment for me, too!I can help students of all ages and abilities in a wide variety of courses. I offer Elementary Math tutoring to younger students, and can also work with older students who require assistance in American History, Government, and Social Studies. I also offer tutoring in Writing, Reading, and English, and can help with Study Skills and Test Prep for the COMPASS and STAAR.In my free time, I like to read, listen to music, and play cards.
