Education

I attended Geneva College for four years and studied to obtain my degree in Secondary English Education. I also have a minor in TESL. My ending GPA at Geneva was 3.5, and I graduated in May of 2015. I completed my student teaching at Freedom Area High School in Pennsylvania, and Haven of Peace Academy in Tanzania.

Experience

I have been a one-on-one tutor for six years. I started while still in college, and after graduation began working with academic and standardized test preparation programs. I have experience working with students as young as 5th grade and as old as their junior year of college. I have tutored various subjects such as Pre-Algebra and Algebra; English writing, reading, and vocabulary; general sciences, chemistry, and psychology. I have also worked with students to prepare for the SATs. I went to school to become a teacher, and have a passion for what I do. I love working with students and helping them advance in their education. Working closely with students as a tutor provides opportunities that teaching an entire classroom full of students does not, such as being able to closely monitor each child's successes and areas that need improvement. Working as a tutor allows us to really commit to teaching material the student needs at the pace the student needs it and is the key to success in education.

Hobbies

In my free time, I enjoy participating in outdoor activities such as running, hiking, biking, and team sports. On weekends I like to go camping with my family, and as long as the weather is nice I absolutely love walking my two dogs. When the weather is not so nice, I like to stay inside and read or watch movies.
